We provide a safe, homely place to live for visually impaired people who need support to enjoy active, independent and fulfilled lives. Rated ‘Good’ by the Quality Care Commission, Thomas Tawell House is our unique residential home specifically developed for visually impaired people.
Each en suite bedroom is comfortably furnished and equipped with wifi and a virtual assistant. Residents are encouraged to make the room their own with small pieces of furniture and decorations to create a home from home setting.
Residents can either enjoy the day relaxing in their room or use Thomas Tawell House’s facilities – these include a garden room to catch up with friends and family, use of the mitre room to listen to audio books or the news, get creative in the craft room, have their hair styled at our onsite hairdresser, enjoy the therapeutic Jacuzzi or relax in our two outdoor gardens.
Vision Norfolk’s staff and volunteers treat every resident as an individual with their own aspirations and wishes that we aim to fulfil at every stage of life at Thomas Tawell House. Recently, as part of her 100th birthday celebrations, a resident’s wish was fulfilled when she enjoyed a spicy curry for dinner!
